The Exchange is a shopping centre in Nottingham which is home to an unrivalled mix of exclusive stores offering designer labels in fashion and jewellery, as well as quality gift and home shops. Housed within an elegant Grade II listed building, it offers a stylish and atmospheric shopping experience. It’s Nottingham’s most exclusive speciality shopping centre, with around 20 stores and big brands, and attracts over 25 million customers a year.
We have been designing the retail centre’s free magazine, The Exchange Magazine, for almost 10 years now. The magazine is very stylish and modern and contains fashion and beauty advice along with current news and offers. It’s a 28 page magazine which appears in the shopping centre, but is also distributed in the Sunday Times around the Nottingham and wider area. Because the magazine has such a large exposure, we like to keep the graphic design contemporary and fresh.
We work very closely with the magazine’s Editor, Adrian Parkinson, to keep the content and graphics stylish and current. We decided to make the magazine handbag size rather than A4 which we find our customers prefer. The magazine also has a glossy finish so it looks more in line with the high street magazines on offer.
This was one of our very first clients and we look forward to continuing working with them on this fantastic product in the future.
